In The Beginning

Heartland RV has its roots in America’s heartland, appropriately enough! The company was founded in 2003 in Elkhart, Indiana, long renowned as the RV capital of the world. A cadre of industry experts decided that the current state of the recreational vehicle market needed to change for the better, and soon. So they decided to focus on renovating existing designs to remove problems that had existed for decades, but had never been addressed by any other manufacturer.

The Landmark was the company’s initial offering, a top-tier fifth wheel with a novel 88° turn radius that helped prevent damage by ensuring that the corners of this Heartland RV didn’t scrape against the new extended truck cabs that had been coming out for a few years. In 2005, Heartland RV released the Sundance and Cyclone models to further acclaim, leading them to build a 110,000 square-foot factory in 2006 to meet consumer demand. They had to expand their manufacturing space by an additional 80,000 square feet in 2008 because the orders just kept on coming in!

At a time when the rest of the RV industry had essentially come to a standstill, Heartland RV was able to breathe new life into the market with their fresh designs and commitment to quality.
