Research

Before you start ripping out furniture and pasting wallpaper, we encourage you to take a moment to research the projects you’d like to complete in your remodel. RVs are complicated pieces of equipment, and tasks that would seem easy in a regular home can be extremely complicated in an RV. Try to take the time to look up instructions, lists of supplies, and other necessary information before you set to work on your remodel.

Plan

Now that you have a little more information on the projects you’d like to complete, you’ll want to give the interior of your RV a quick inspection. What furniture or supplies would you like to add? What needs to be removed? What is the current layout of your RV, and how much space do you have to work with? While RVs are in no way small vehicles, space is an important resource you don’t want to waste. Remodels can sometimes take a very long time, especially if you’re completing them yourself. Before you undertake such an intensive project try to set a timeline as well as a budget for yourself. When setting your budget, be sure to include both the cost of your items, as well as labor expenses (or the cost of tools if you’re completing the remodel yourself).
